2016 WFO International Forum on Cast Iron & Cast Steel Technologies held successfully in Beijing

 2016 WFO International Forum on Cast Iron & Cast Steel Technologies was held in Beijing, China on May 16, 2016. The Forum is sponsored by WFO Ferrous Metals Commission and co-organized by China Foundry Association and Foundry Institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (FICMES).

A total of 23 papers were received from seven countries, including thirteen presentations from China, Korea, Germany and Belgium around the theme “Advanced Technology for Cast Iron and Cast Steel”, of which eight concerned about cast irons. The various topics covered the industrial review and specific casting technologies, such as melting, feeding, alloying and inoculation, as well as numerical simulation. The forum attracted about 150 attendees.

Mr. Huang Weidong, president of FICMES, presided over the forum and gave a welcome address at the opening ceremony. Mr. Sun Guoxiong, Chairman of the WFO Ferrous Materials Commission, and Mr. Zhang Libo, standing vice-president of China Foundry Association, also gave an address. Professor Sun Guoxiong and Mr. Hae-wook Kwon, Chairman of Korea Foundry Society co-chaired the morning session; Mr. Li Kerui, Vice-Chairman of WFO Ferrous Materials Commission, and Mr. Erwin Dötsch from Germany co-chaired the session in the afternoon.
